NEW YORK – Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 that’s a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.

Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. “It is exciting to once again witness an growth in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking figure of 2019,” he stated. “The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking figures of tourist entry each month. It’s a fantastic positive change that we are pleased to witness and expect an upward trend for years to be.”

Canada, which has 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022 and 6,000 tourists in August, isn’t far behind the United States.

“It is so exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding,” said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. “We aren’t far off our record 2019 and we expect that the increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase because Canadians feel more confident about traveling across the globe.”

Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 came of the United States. The country’s official reopening to all travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
